Big 4 Transaction Services - Questions to ask

Hi,

I am currently working at a Deloitte in the audit department, but am looking to transfer over to the Transaction Services group. I am meeting with the recruiting senior manager and another manager informally for coffee or lunch to discuss the opportunities.

What are some good, insightful questions to ask these guys that will show I know what I'm talking about / I am a good candidate.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Tom

If you've been working for Deloitte then you're already a fit. It comes down to why you are looking to transfer. Ask honest questions like what does a typical day look like? What kind of transactions do you work on (i.e. M&A, capital raising)? What exactly is your role in the process? What industries do you primarily serve? Are there different groups within TS that focus on certain transactions? Do you provide both due diligence and valuation services?

Basically, they want to see that you are curious. As you know, the Big 4 love that. I interned with one. Good choice on choosing to move, I imagine it is much more interesting and exciting.
