BOA Commercial Banking

Hello all,

Curious as to if anyone has any experience with BoA commercial banking. I am pretty far into my career and am looking to potentially trade compensation for better work life balance / move closer to home. Here are a couple questions I had.

  • what is the typical career path look like? I have heard of underwriter I, II, etc. what does this mean?
  • How hard would it be to get into a RM role? Especially given my extensive work history in credit (think more private credit). Is there a period of time where you are having to pay your dues and learn the nuances of the bank?
  • If not able to go RM route, is CO the other route? Is this as attractive?
  • what is the typical salary / bonus at each level?
  • how frustrating does the regulatory restrictions make this job? Just trying to get a sense for how kind numbing the work might be. But if the payoff is ultimately worth it in terms of compensation down the road and better work life balance

thanks!
