bottom bucket bonus amount?
First year analyst at a BB here. I'm wondering what a realistic bottom bucket bonus is? I feel like i haven't learned anything and am not adding very much value. Is there any minimum / what's the lowest people have heard of?
You aren’t bottom bucket, if you’re worried and no one is bitching at you 24/7, you are fine.
The lowest 1st-year bonus I've heard was 35K. Tier 2 BB (think Barclays/BAML/Citi/CS)
There’s a very little chance you’re actually bottom-bucket. But at some BBs, it’s $5k and a “good luck at your next role.”
Thanks for the responses. Yeah I guess I haven't really been bitched out ever, I just feel like I don't know anyone anyone above the VP level in my group and that the gap between my ability and that of the second year analysts is massive... wish there was some sort of mid-year review process
They also know you’re at a massive disadvantage WFH.
FWIW I was top bucket at my (EB) firm each of my analyst years, and I felt incompetent until about Thanksgiving of my second year.
hahaha thats reassuring for sure
Keep your chin up and in no time you’ll be a first-year PE associate feeling just as lost!
