Boutique Acquisition
Since advisory/boutique firms are technically not financial institutions, I would’ve thought that m&a activity for these companies would be done by business services teams. Someone I know said in their bank a deal like this would be done out of fig. Anyone have any experience in this space? Is it bank/team/subsector/geographic coverage dependent? Thanks in advance :)
Have looked at a few boutiques as investment opportunities, all were from FIG groups.
Which kinds of boutiques more specifically? IB? Brokers?
Was referring to ib
Investment banks.
Advisory firms usually done out of FIG
Financial Services firms (which include IBs) are going to be handled by a FIG / Financial Services firm, but I would imagine there are banks that don't have a bonafide FIG team but do a lot of "Business Services" deals that could also take an engagement to sell an IB.
