Is it normal to move from boutique pure strategy consulting firms like Dean & Co which work heavily with PE companies, due diligence, and M&A synergies to a role as an associate in a MM PE shop? I know the normal route is IB or MBB/Parthenon/LEK but why don't PE firms like the M&A operational experience from boutiques?
