Boutique PE to bulge IB?
I know the typical path is IB to PE, what if someone joined a boutique PE right after graduate? Is it possible to transfer to IB afterwards?

Hey man, thanks for the reply. I wish to join BB after graduation, but I only received an offer from a boutique PE at SF. Also, I was hoping to live in NY.I am willing to know if it's possible to transfer to IB than to stay in the PE field for the long term. I have fairly same amount of connections within PE and IB.
Honestly, it is difficult to say. Going from PE to IB is certainly not the typical route. You would probably have to do the following PE SF -> IB SF -> IB NYC (and maybe an MBA between IB SF and IB NYC). When does the offer from the PE boutique expire? Are you in the interview process with any of the BBs in NYC or any other location?
