boutique to MM bank

All,

I was wondering if someone that is in the industry or has gone from a boutique to MM bank could give me an answer.

I am currently pursuing my mba as a working professional. I am working but am also doing work for a boutique over the next 1.5 years until I graduate. I would prefer to stay on with the boutique but since it is small they may not be able to bring someone on fulltime. In this case, how difficult would it be to transition over to a MM bank given my 1.5-2 years of experience at that point.

Something I see as a roadblock is my program does not graduate until August 2012. I assume most incoming IB classes start in late May maybe June.
