Breaking into Healthcare IB
I'm currently a rising sophomore that originally thought I was going to med school entering college. After taking some consideration I've decided that medical school isn't what I want to do and investment banking, specifically healthcare is what I would like to pursue. For context, I'm currently doing research at a pharmaceutical company. Research is really cool, but the transactional side of big pharma companies in the business world really interests me as well. Plus the fields of biotech, drug discovery, etc. are rapidly expanding as well. To break into a specific sector of banking such as healthcare, what are some steps I can take regarding building my network? I've looked on Linkedin for people working in healthcare IB from my school but I haven't found much luck in doing so. Any help is appreciated!
Would just try to network as normal, doesn’t have to be people from your school specifically. For context, I’m currently pre med and in an IB HC internship and I just networked with bankers in HC groups, regardless if they were from my school or not
