Breaking into IB from a non-target

Hey, I'm trying to break into IB, I don't have a target city but i would like to break into London or any EU city. I am in my second semester in a semi-target here in the country i live but it would be considered non-target for any of the major international banks. I'm trying to get any form of internship in finance but without any luck yet, or a student job in finance, I have some interviews at some major companies in my country (no banks) lined up so hopefully I will get a job there. My university didn't have a finance club so me and a classmate decided to found one so right now all my free time is spent on that and on learnig things like financial modelling, perfecting my excel skills, and learning as much as i can about the industry. My current GPA is the equivalent to a high 2.1 or a low First, depends on the source you use to convert my local grades. I am networking as much as possible on Linkedin contacting former students from my university that are in the industry now, and arranging calls with them. Does anybody have any tips and tricks and what else i could do? And does anybody think I have a chance of breaking into IB?
