Breaking into IB in the West Coast
How hard is it to break into LA/SF for IB? It is my understanding that I would have to compete from all the guys from regional targets like USC, Berkeley, Stanford, etc. Any advice is appreciated.

IMO stanford is not rlly a target school in that area.
Really? Not too familiar with West Coast recruiting but I thought for a school of that caliber they would be up there.
not many students are interested in banking so I don’t think banks are on campus. with that being said any Stanford student interested should have no problem getting interviews.
Are you saying banks don't go on-campus to Stanford to recruit? Because if so, that is dead, dead wrong.
There are even megafunds and your whole set of traditional HFs that recruit at Stanford undergrad. Most people who are set on banking are able to land a GS/MS/JPM or EB (and some do BAML or CS) because so few kids are interested in finance but these firms still come to recruit on campus.
