Breaking into investment banking from Baruch
I'm an incoming freshman going to Baruch college in the fall. I'm wondering if it's possible to be able to have a good shot to break into IB or should I keep my options open and look to transfer at a transfer-friendly university that would give me a better shot. I also think I am a diversity applicant but I don't know how far that would take me if I don't go to a top school. I appreciate any insight.
Wrong website to mention diversity
But I've seen Baruch go to banking a million times over. I think if you work hard you have a decent shot. But by no means is it a target. Maybe semi-target.
As per transfer, think about your GPA and SAT's before applying. Also the interviews. If you think you have a good shot, fuck it. I always regretted not transferring.
Would say Baruch is in a weird limbo between solid semi target and non-target largely because of the lack of finance culture but still having proximity to the city. If you work hard and meet the right people you’ll be fine tho, especially given diversity, so at the end of the day focus on whether you’re gonna enjoy going to school there or not
