Brown Gibbons Lang / MM
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for insights into the Chicago and New York offices of Brown Gibbons Lang (BGL), particularly regarding their Infrastructure and Industrials teams. I’m interested in understanding how these teams operate, the types of deals they focus on, and any notable differences between the two offices in terms of culture, work style, and career opportunities.
If anyone has experience with BGL or knows about these teams, I’d appreciate your input on: 1. Team Dynamics: How are the infra and industrials teams structured? Are they collaborative, and what’s the typical deal flow like? 2. Deal Types: What’s the primary focus for these teams—e.g., M&A, capital raising, project finance? Any examples of recent or notable transactions would be great. 3. Office Culture: Are there any key differences in culture or work environment between the Chicago and NY offices? 4. Growth Opportunities: How do these teams contribute to career development, and what are the exit opportunities for associates and analysts? 5. Compensation: How does comp (base, bonus, and overall structure) compare between the two offices and relative to peers in similar firms?
I’d love to hear any personal experiences, even if they’re anecdotal, or general advice about working at BGL in these offices. Thanks in advance for your help!

I work at a major utility, and I have not seen them on anything I have worked on. That's not to say they don't do deals, or that they don't do major deals, just I personally have not seen them on anything (whether we were selling or buying)
