BTG Pactual Summer Undergrad IB Program in Brazil

Freshman Finance student at LatAm uni (non-Brazilian, Spanish speaker) interested in BTG Pactual IB São Paulo. Some context...My uni has June-July (2 months) summer break, However,  we have to take a full semester off for a internship in our senior year. Questions:

  • What candidate profile do they prioritize? What does the interview cover (technical questions like valuation/modeling vs. behavioral)?
  • Does their summer program run June-July, or do they expect longer? Would June-July availability disqualify me?
  • Do they offer 6-month off-cycle internships?
  • Is Portuguese fluency required or just preferred? (I speak Spanish (native) / English (C1))
  • Are non-Brazilians competitive for these roles?

Thanks for any insight.

hey I also applied for this! I do think being fluent in Portuguese is a req given it is a Brazilian bank and neither English nor Spanish are incredibly common in Brazil. I am also from latam > studying in USA and waiting to hear back. Apparently it is very resume based

Yeah, I’m currently studying in Colombia, and a few alumni who work at BTG Pactual offices here have also told me the process here is very resume-driven. That said, I haven’t been able to find anyone who’s actually gone through the São Paulo summer program specifically, which makes it a bit harder to know what to expect.
