Bulge Brackets Hiring - Hire people for the summer?
Hi,
Are Morgan Stanley and UBS (ibanking) going to hire people for the summer? I don't want to turn down boutique superdays on the basis of focusing my efforts on nonexistent opportunities, but I also don't want to miss so many days of school for jobs that I don't really want.

I don't know if they're hiring, but unless you have an in with an MD (in which case you'd know the answer) I wouldn't assume that you'll get a spot even if they are.
I;d go to the boutique interviews. Even if you don't want the job, and are confident you can get a BB, it is a chance to hone your interview skills for any BB interviews you may get.
Putting the incoherence of the above post aside, they are both hiring SAs...just fewer than in the past. It is a hard decision that you will have to weigh firm by firm. If the decision is tiny boutique vs MS, then you should go with MS. If it is Evercore/Houlihan then lean towards the boutique.
how's the air up there on cloud #9? Haha... be happy you're getting superdays with anyone at this point. There are a lot of very smart kids who have to give up on their banking dreams for now.
