Lateral Opportunities

How is lateraling perceived when you  try to recruit into a better place? I have been at a specialised boutique (complete sweatshop) as an analyst for 6 months now, but they don't sponsor visas so i am looking to exit eventually before my graduate visa I'm on expires. I am happy  to take a convertible off-cycle internship at a better place, but wonder how that would look for a recruiter and how to justify giving up what is driving going back to internship . Anyone has got any thoughts on this?

also on a separate note, i have some savings for a financial back up, so am seriously considering resigning at my current place to be able to recharge first actually (got quite burnt out) and focus on recruitment, given i still will have a notice period of 1 month such a joke.
Just curious what people with the same situation think and do.
