How different will an internship at a business broker be compared to at a boutique ib. The job description says that I will be able to do some modeling and valuation work, but the people at the firm do not have past ib experience.

It won't be ibanking at all. I've spoken with a couple of these guys and they're focused on finding buyers and sellers for micro-cap businesses like restaurants and such. They will do normalizations to the financial statements to get a good idea of EBITDA, but they're not going to do in-depth analysis.
I would assume quite different, smaller scale.
I forgot to mention that they also do M&A advisory and that they are part of an ib group.
