Buyside out of Uni (London)
This past summer I interned at one of GS/MS/JPM, and I am now in the later stages of some processes for Large-Cap PE Analyst Programmes (KKR, Silverlake, Blackstone, Bain Capital Credit, etc.)
In terms of compensation, training and brand value I see the BB as the better place to start a career. But the end goal for me is to break into PE, so I think it may be better to be one of the 15 buy-side analysts than one of the 500 BB IBD analysts. I also don't speak any relevant European languages.
Which opportunity offers a better platform for a long-term career in private equity?
Does anyone have any specific info/anecdotes anyone has on these analyst programmes?
