Killer questions to ask a Co-head at BB

Hi,

As mentioned in the title, I have a coffee chat with a pretty senior person and would appreciate some feedback on A) & B).

________________________________________________________

A) From my understanding, ECM has three subgroups:

1. Equity Origination

2. Syndicate

3. Convertible Bonds / Equity-Linked

Q: Are analysts assigned to specific subgroups, or do they cover all? For ECM bankers, what has your experience been like working with each of these?

B) Any insights on BofA’s Real Estate, Gaming, and Lodging ECM group’s presence in the US & EMEA?

Thanks,

Bill

Is the guy an alum of your school? If so, try to keep the conversation high level and casual and just talk about yourself and your experiences. I think it would be a good question to ask him as to whether analysts are assigned to specific subgroups and you can follow up with where he thinks it may be most advantageous to start your career. Convey that you've heard a lot of great things about BofA and want to make a career there and make sure to ask what attributes he had to make it to the top of IB.
