Can a bank rescind an offer due to recruiting somewhere else?
Hey monkeys,
Just wrapped up my 2023 SA recruiting and am stoked to join the group I accepted for next year. A few months earlier, I also accepted an offer for this summer at a well-respected boutique in the same city.
Lots of analysts and associates have lateralled between the two banks I have accepted offers for, and I’m worried if word gets out that I accepted another offer for 2023 my current summer internship may get rescinded due to the fact that they are expecting to bring me on next summer if I perform well enough (no verbal/written offers made though). Would this be a possibility?
As a private Company they can rescind an offer for basically any reason except for illegal ones, and even in those cases they could just state a non-illegal reason and you have no recourse.
Would they? Probably not.
