Can Americans apply to London for SA?

I plan on applying mostly to New York, but I met an MD in London who said he would push my resume for his office at one BB. I know resume pushes don't mean much in London, but will they at least consider me then, or do you have to be from a European school?

Even if its not a EU target we know how good those unis are, regarding to UCLA it would not be considered a target here as we already have 4 US unis that provide enough students.

MD referrals are not that important here, and even less in BBs where it may be more important to have some push at the associate level (to screen your CV). Anyways this would also depende on the specific BB you got the referral and how involved this MD is in the recruiting process

If you speak any other language or have any previous IB/PE experience this could be of help

Quick LinkedIn search told me that US students who end up in London are from US targets (have seen a good amount of kids from HYPWS, Stern, Georgetown kind of schools). Also, the majority of them seem to have some kind of links to Europe (EU students studying in the US). I don’t know how UCLA would stack up in London recruiting though, although I’m sure there’s a way to leverage the recognizable brand name

If this were the case, why would they not just transfer over?! Pretty sure people stay in London as salaries are ~20% lower while CoL is ~20% lower and hours worked are ~30% lower too.

It's a tough ask, competition was already fierce (pre Brexit) with 25-26 yr old European MSc hardos applying for springs and summers

Only "American applicants" I have actually seen in European programs were either European nationals who attended school in the US or American citizens who were either fully enrolled in a European university or dual degree program with a European university. You can shoot your shot but I can almost guarantee you won't get it. Seems like a bit of a waste of an application
