Can you make REAL wealth in consulting/IB? if not, how?

My parents migrated to here and I feel I owe them. I've got a summer internship from a strategy consulting firm. If I work my way up, will I be able to achieve wealth? Not 10k a month but something bigger. If not, what do you recommend I do?

Not really, real wealth comes from ownership. Sure, you can make MD/Partner, but you will pay with your health and the eventual divorce(s) will drain your bank account. My cliche advice, get the brand name on your resume and network with people. Then after a few years, you will have talented friends and connections to capital with which you can begin building your own firm and subsequently your wealth.
