Can you put deal experience on your resume as an intern?

If you are at a boutique IB and have a solid deal flow, is it appropriate to put "selected transaction experience" on your resume and list the deal after it has closed? If so, when do you need to be involved in the process in order to say that? While Pitching?

Mandate is the exclusive agreement your bank signs with the client.

I would put any deal you did a lot of work on and keep company name private until the deal is finalized and announced. You can phrase it as "Potential $50M sale of XYZ industry company", anyone interviewing you will understand if it hasn't been totally finalized or the deal fell through.

I would only put this on my resume as an intern if I had significant control over the pitch book, underwrote most of the transaction, spent the whole summer on it, etc. People will definitely ask about any deals you have listed, so if you weren't extremely involved you may be better off just having generic bullet points.

Yes--I did it, and I would strongly recommend. It was a conversation starter in early interviews. Regarding the company names being private, I just mentioned their industry etc and put Redacted.
