I don’t have anything to add to this thread but wanted to wish all the candidates out there the best of luck in the process and hope you guys all end up at the firms you want to be in. As someone who previously went through this I understand how gruelling it can be. just keep pushing and remember that even if doesn’t workout, it’s not the end of the world. goodluck ladies and gents
Got first round with National Bank, any advice for the phone interview?
Only behavioural as it is being conducted by an external agency. Source is a recruiter who is associated with the planning process.
heard from someone who attended a virtual recruitment session- it’s a pretty shit process that hyper aggressively pushes nepotism within their recruiting. they apparently don’t care about resumes, and are essentially solely focused on how much you’ve interacted with employees/events of the bank.
I don’t think i need to explain how much more disadvantageous that makes recruiting for non targets, those without connections/alumni, and the prospect of any cold applicant
Anyone else getting nervous hearing about all these first round interview offers and super-days already sent out and done with? I submitted super early for TD, RBC, BMO, and CIBC Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver (when applicable)... Haven't received a single first round offer. Semi-target, set up calls with over 30 analysts (mostly BMO) and 5 associates, two mock interviews with analysts, and asked 10+ people to send my resume into HR as a follow-up, and yet nothing. I've been trying to prep for interviews but what good is all that if the 15+ opportunities I'm trying to line up don't even set up a first-round. After all this, I have no idea what else I need to do...
Just wanted to say McGill is the biggest target in Canada. They have interviews before any other school and place the best
Ok buddy we get it you go to McGill and its a target, congrats. Your daddy must be so proud
yes i've noticed i perform much better when my balls have been trimmed (not shaved)
Why doesn't anyone mention the location they're interviewing with lol superday in Alberta? Calgary? Alaska? Or should we just assume TO like it's common knowledge smh
Alaska is an American state and this is a Canadian forum. You could've said Yukon, could've said Manitoba, could have said any other city/province/region in Canada and you decided to be a dumbass and name an American state. I hope no one mentions their location moving forward. Just because you did that.
That was the point...
RBC are done
BMO are most probably done/wrapping up
CIBC will start sending first rounds after 13th
Scotia are yet to send first rounds (at least in my target)
TD have sent first rounds this week
PS - not a big 5 but BAML have sent first rounds today.
I wouldnt lose hope if I were you, firms are still recruiting and it's better to be prepared and seize the opportunity when it arises than overthinking about stuff which is out of your control. Good luck!
