Canadian seeking to do master's programs in the USA or UK

I am a Canadian looking to do a masters in the UK or USA to expand my opportunities in finance. I graduated from target with a low GPA (2.8) but currently work in IB. I am preparing for the CFA exam and taking a few classes to increase my GPA to 3.0. I know master's programs like MBAs are more GMAT-focused, and overall profile, so I'd like to know my options for getting a master's at a target/semi-target. In the USA, I am looking at Darden, Haas, Ross, and Upenn for example. I understand I am going to need to score really high on the GMAT to make this possible, and I am willing to do the work to get there.

As a Canadian, the reason why I am considering the UK is that Canadians are offered a work permit to work in London for example, which is just a hell of a lot easier than trying to work in NYC. London is way better than all of Canada right now as well considering there are absolutely no opportunities available. As I was writing this post, I recently saw that Stifel Canada is cutting bonuses and converting them to forgivable loans by Dec 31st 2023...

Need some guidance and help with this and possible suggestions on what I should do. I would eventually like to work in tech IB
