Can't seem to land a sophomore internship

Hello,

I hope this does not come across rude or insensitive to anyone.

I am a sophomore at a top 10 school that is more of a semi-target. I can't seem to land a sophomore year internship. I qualify for diversity programs and starting applying in late September, so I did miss a lot of them and I didn't apply to any of those events or programs because, I didn't really know about them. But, I have a 4.0 and pretty much have gotten past the initial resume screen for every program I apply to diversity or not, and if there is a test I pretty much always pass those as well. A lot of these interviews have hirevues and I have an EXTREMELY low success rate with those. I did somehow get pass one of the most competitive event video interviews and screening and everyone in that had an IB internship lined up and I didn't.

I am getting the impression that the whole concept of going to a prestigious school does not matter for diversity programs and having a super high gpa doesn't add much value. I have seen people at school that are not well known for things with not super high GPAs get multiple offers and I cant seem to get 1.

I think I am hitting a rock where I have gotten as far  in these processes as my academics and work can take me.

I think my interview skills need work, but I have gone to my college's semi-useless career center and they have drilled me and said I am fine. I do need to improve my social skills but I don't show these in interviews and alway make sure I smile and node and I am engaged. I don't know what I can do at this point other than keep trying. I am at this point apply to every thing in finance and still haven't gotten much traction. I do so many hirevues and have read books and practiced and still cant get past most. I have about 3+ interviews every week for the past few weeks and this with school is getting to be so draining. It is getting especially depressing when people expect me to have secured some BB internship from their sophomore program.

This turned out to be more of a rant, but this website has in the past had a lot of good advice.

Also, please don't leave any hate comments about diversity internships, it helps no one.
