Career advice - offers and move

Hello everyone,

As a brief introduction, I'm a student in a top MSc Finance in Europe (think Bocconi, HEC, EDHEC) without any previous M&A experience. I was applying to London IBD and had a couple ACs but it did not end up happening and currently I have two offers:

  • Off-Cycle at French bank in Paris (think BNP, SG, CACIB) -> doesn't convert

  • 1 yr Graduate program (basically FT) at the CIB of a large commercial bank with little IB presence -> have been told by people in BB and EB in the same market that it's a strong group and I have seen people making the jump to BB after 2 years.

My doubt is (since the intention is going to London BB eventually), 1) what would make the most sense to take initially and 2) if it would it make sense to apply for FT BB right after the graduate program or if Off-Cycle would be the safest bet. I would have 1 year of FT experience but I do understand that at the start of FT recruiting I would barely have started.

Thanks everyone for your help
