What is the difference between a managing director and a senior managing director in terms of responsibility and is a senior md most likely also a partner? Just couscous about different titles and the responsibilities connected to them. I appreciate the answers.

No idea how to answer. Titles vary so much firm to firm. From my experience Senior MDs are the practice leader. You could have a few MDs under a specific coverage group or focus area (M&A).
