Career switch and Move to London- Need UK people to chime in
Hey guys,
Long-term lurker, first time poster.
I started FT at a BB in IBD two months ago and absolutely hate the job although I am in one of the top groups that are mentioned so frequently on this site. I've come to realize that family is too important to me, so I am trying to move closer to home(Europe) and find a job that is less demanding. I've applied to some masters programs in the UK and I got into LSE so far, which I am very happy about. My goal is to move into CF after my masters and by CF I mean FP&A/Strategic Finance.
I know that in the UK, most FP&A/VP of finance/CFO professionals have their ACA as they are mostly ex-big 4. If that's my goal, should I recruit for big 4 after I finish my masters? Honestly I wouldn't mind doing audit for 3 years and then jump ship as long as I know that that's still the most viable stepping stone into CF. I'd love it if UK people could chime in here.
Thanks in advance.
