Centerview Partners - Associate Opportunities?
I was researching Elite Boutiques and I really like what I hear about Centerview Partners. I read that they don’t hire MBA grads for associate roles - at least not formally like some firms. Does anyone know how they try to fill associate roles?
For context: I’m a VP in Corp Dev getting my EMBA from a target school.
If you’ve read they don’t take mba associates than obviously they prefer to promote their own analysts or make lateral hires.
EMBA is not going to have the same MBA recruiting opportunities, so unless it’s a truly top program like wharton or Columbia, don’t do it.
Yeah, I assume they have pretty high analyst retention but I’d imagine they have to hire an associate from time to time.
EMBA to CVP is not likely.
If I were you I'd do a year or two at an equivalent BB/EB if you can land one and lateral in. But agree with above, EMBA is a good program for certain career paths/if needed for promotion, but not something that will get looks from BB associate recruiting. UChicago is a part time program (not EMBA) and that's the only one that really has any associate recruiting part-time, and even that is a real hustle
I agree, being in an EMBA is not exactly ideal, certainly not for elite boutique. I have had pretty good traction with MM firms though through networking and cold calling/emailing.
Also, thanks for the insight. I appreciate it.
They did start hiring small 5-6 person MBA classes mostly made up of Vets and Women.
