Chance me for my IB goals

I am a rising junior at a semi target 3.2 GPA Econ major Did a 1 week boot camp this summer with an energy shop in Houston, learned a shit ton and want to get into IBD more than ever because of it.

I don't care about BB because i have little hope for getting an internship with one of them. However, how do I look for getting an offer for a reputable MM or boutique? Where should I look? I honestly don't even care about New York, I would go to Houston, Charlotte, Atlanta, etc..... In fact I would actually prefer to not live in NY

Yeah I know I don't fit the mold and I also have bad grades (which are getting much better-bad freshman year) but is there a chance for me?

Currently building a network now, i know how important that is

Yeah, for sure man. Since you're keeping yourself open, you should definitely look through all your universities alumni that are in or have had experience in the industry & reach out to them. One will lead to another until you reach someone worth to give your an IBD gig. Just be ready to really convince them of your interest/ passion for finance & how it would be a logical choice for you to work in IB considering your backgroud. Sounds cliche but thats' all I think can be said.

Don't break yourself on the way to making yourself

This isn't college confidential. Getting an offer is not about rating you based on your stats for a chance... It's more based on how personable you are and how well that comes across in interviews, given you have the requisite skills. Remember it's a process, not just covering your net everywhere in hopes of a catch. Marshmello's advice on networking goes a long way in learning more about the industry.
