Chances at PE Recruiting- Corporate Banking at BB (JPM MMBSI)

Hi Y'all, I am a junior at a non-target and my 2020 summer analyst position is in the corporate banking division of a BB in NYC. I didn't get a SA offer for investment banking, unfortunately. What chances do I have for FT recruiting at MF PE? that is really where I want to end up but I'm worried that I might be on a bit of a tough track.

What advice do you guys have/is this even possible to do corporate banking to MF PE? thanks in advance for the help!

So MMBSI is actually commercial banking for JPM (as you probably know the only real difference is the size of companies you will be servicing, MMBSI $20mm-$500mm, and CCBSI $500mm+). NY is one of the tougher markets to get a return offer in, although the exit opportunities are not terrible as JPM commercial banking is possibly the best program out there for credit/commercial banking; analysts regularly exit to Private Debt and sometimes PE. That said, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will have no shot at MF PE.

The good news, is that except among the largest US banks (JPM, BofA, WF), MMBSI would be considered corporate banking, and you will be exposed to far more specialty groups than you would be nearly anywhere else. So, if you end up with any desire to stay in the space, you will have a giant leg up anywhere you lateral to. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions as I know quite a bit about the program.
