Chances of Breaking into Regional IB as a non-target

I’m a rising sophomore at a private university in Texas which is unknown in the world of finance.

I’m a 3.2 GPA, Finance major

I am aiming to increase my GPA to 3.5 by the end of my sophomore year

I am not looking to go into a BB, I want to break into a regional bank

I was considering to transfer to a university with a stronger finance program but I would have to get into student debt since my parents won’t pay for that lol

Being from Texas, Baylor/TCU/SMU all can place nationally at MM. You at like a Trinity? If so def will be hard especially with that GPA. I’d highly suggest you network a ton or find an IB adjacent job and then gear up for an MBA.

Other option is doing an MSF at a top school to attempt to break in. Just being candid a 3.2-3.5 from a “no name” will get instant rejection unless you are heavily networked into a specific group
