Chances of landing a FT IB/PE role in London?
Hey guys,
I will be applying to MFin/MFE programs in the UK this fall (think LSE/Oxford). Let's assume I get in and given the new automatic UK 2-year visa after graduation. (I'm from South America), What do you think are the chances of landing a FT role in IB/PE after graduation? Do I necessarily have to get a summer internship before?
My experience: M&A internship at an EB (9 months) and now I'm currently a 1st year analyst at a regional MM PE fund, where I see LBOs and internal consulting projects in the portfolio companies.
Thanks in advance,
Hi Analyst 1 in PE - LBOs, don't worry, the WSO Monkey Bot is here.... I'm hoping one of these links will help find your answer:

Hope that helps.
Yes, do an internship
Thanks! Is it really that hard to land an offer if I apply to a FT Analyst program directly?
It is highly competitive - you would basically have the whole of lateral guys and graduate students competing for those positions. And I think some firms would require you to have UK/EU deal experiences.
Applying for graduate programs - same issue. Very competitive. Plus there is a cap, say a max of 2 years of exp, for some grad program
