Chartered for Finance Conference
Check out this conference hosted by the Chartered Accountants Institute: http://www.guidetorulingtheworld.ca/events/charte…. It's basically a conference trying to convince university students that pursuing a CA designation will open doors to a career in finance. I think this conference is misleading, however. If someone knew early on that he wants to do finance, why would he pursue a CA designation? I'm a second year university student interested in sales and trading or investment banking, but mostly sales and trading. Is it worthwhile to pursue a Chartered Accountancy? Note: I'm referring to the CA designation here, not the CPA. I know there has already been many threads discussing the CPA, but the CA designation is a more rigorous and internationally recognized accounting designation.
