I'm going to NY but in CHI, only banks you want to take over NY BBs (in my personal ranking based on exits), LAZ RX > HL RX > GHL > CS >= LAZ/MOE/PWP. LAZ RX CHI exits are among the top 5 group exits in banking. You probably only lose out compared to PJT RX / GS TMT / MS M&A and some groups at EVR. Quite frankly the most underrated group on this forum. HL RX has standard buyside exits for a RX shop but lower caliber. GHL and CS CHI are two deceptively good offices. Exits much better than their NYC counterparts on average. LAZ/MOE/PWP all similar in CHI in terms of exits. I'm not sure how I would compare them to NY BBs. Also Blair and Baird are great but I kept this to EBs and BBs.

I would take LAZ RX over pretty much any NY group/bank besides GS TMT / MS M&A / PJT RSSG and the like.

Would probably take GHL and HL RX over any non-top-3 BBs. Take CS over DB, UBS, CITI, and BARC NY, possibly better than CS NY as well. I know CS doesn't have the best name but don't sleep on it in CHI.

Iffy on PWP/MOE/LAZ. That is a judgement call based on your interview process imo.
