Chicago GSB Summer Business Scholars - Any input?

I am starting full-time S&T at a BB in September and am trying to get a few things planned for my last summer of freedom for a long, long time. My choices are between backpacking southern Europe for a few weeks ($4k) or applying to the Chicago Booth Summer Business Scholars program, also a 3 week program which costs around $6k. Though I already have a job, I am looking to build my resume for B-school 3-4 years from now. Is this program worth doing? Do B-schools care about it? Is it worth the money? Is it better to do something fun this summer or do something worthwhile? Any input would be gratefully appreciated.

B-schools and employers admit interesting, well-rounded people and I think a European back-packing trip is a lifelong memory that you will carry with you as opposed to a 3 week academic program, which seems like a waste of money and time. I would reco the trip hands down. When you enter the real world you will soon realize that free time and independence are valuable commodities and you will spend a great deal of your life contemplating the importance/balance between time and money. Go have some fun

I had a SA interview with a top restructuring shop last week -- we spent about 30 seconds talking about my current university and we spent 10 minutes talking about my trip through Europe. Take it for what it's worth.
