Chicago IB still looking for interns

Title pretty much explains it. I'm a rising junior who's behind the ball looking for firms to target for an internship next summer. Any advice is greatly appreciated. For context I go to Miami of Ohio (A non-target at best), have a 3.8 gpa and a few extracurriculars. My main problem is I realized way to late that I need be proactive about this. I've reached out to a few folks and have made connections but they all say their intern class is full

Maybe look for off cycle internships of any sort during your junior year. Maybe a corp dev role or another role apart from IB at a BB. Then leverage that internship for a boutique IB internship junior summer or senior year off cycle. Try to target banks close to your school or hometown. A bank might have an opening or spot needed to be filled. I don’t think you can get a spot at a bigger bank like a BB or EB, but definitely can at a boutique or regional bank.
