Hi! I'm a white woman at a HYPSM school, went to Chinese immersion school growing up, so speak fluent mandarin, interesting in careers related to China long term. Do you mean working at buyside in China or US based firm that focuses on Chinese investments?
US firm w/ China interests
there are some equity HFs that do alot of Chinese interests but larger firms will generally have chinese offices rather than working out of US. some are oasis, tiger pacific, kingdon, haydin. Couple came out of tiger cubs, most are pretty lowkey and I'm not sure if they hire interns but it doesnt hurt asking I guess. Doubt VC/PE works out of US investing in Chinese firms
VC/PE does not really work. Too many regulations. For example: Sequoia split their Chinese practice into a different company located in China.
