MM bank in NYC. We typically create a slide master using the client's colors and images. It's a bit time-consuming early on, but makes it much simpler when you're preparing the CIM/MP or any quick update slides down the line.
At a US BB based in London. We either ask the client for their slide master or get our presentation team to create one, then just use that going forward. Also we accept we are never going to perfectly nail the client format, so if e.g. the choice is between a page that is aesthetically pleasing but uses elements of our own formatting or a page that is 100% as per the client format we will do the former. Remember in this industry the client is normally a hyper-anxious moron so I’d just go with whatever you think looks best
