Citi shutting down IB?
From their investor day - “When the restructuring was complete, Citi would focus on “five core interconnected businesses”, Fraser said. Those businesses include treasury and trade services, global wealth management, corporate and commercial banking, markets and US personal banking.”
What does this mean for Investment Banking?
I don't think they're shutting down IB. I know Fraser has been shutting down consumer segments in overseas markets, but I'm pretty sure her whole strategy is to focus more on institutional clients.

Lol words can't explain how much I hate Citi, I thank God every day I don't work there
How come? Bad culture and sub-par bonuses or more than that?
Citi are the most 'woke' IB
think they lump it under corproate
That just means areas they are focusing on and aggressively investing in for future growth. Obviously they're keeping and spending money on IB, it's just not a top tier / high investment growth area
Classic Shiti Bank. Will never compare with FT Partners
