Class of 2008 Analysts - WTF

Was Class of 2008 Analyst at a BB. Loved our analyst class but now it's all disbanded. Not a single one left in my group (including me) - total analyst class over 50% have quit or been made to quit earlier in the year (this is more common). And now activity is picking up again?! One year earlier it hasn't gotten as bad, one year later deal flow is increasing again. Just our year - weeks after we started working freakin' 100+ year old Wall Street establishments started collapsing. You can't time it if you tried... and none of this "it makes for a great story" or "you're living in a historical period" shit is even 1% comfort.

Sorry for the rant....

it sucks. best you can do is just leverage your network and one year of experience to land somewhere else, whether its PE, HF, consulting, etc.

I'm making it up as I go along.

I am in the same shit...started my "career" in Private Equity and then switch to MnA in MM in NY and the best interview I landed so far was for Business Development...What a SHITY timing!

Guys I know that have done the same program(s) are now Associate/VP in well known and respected institutions...but it was 2 years before...I feel like the boat "just" left the harbor...Too bad you were late!!

And the worst is that all the guys I have known before who choosed Consulting or Audit are like "Man...it sucks for bankers but you guys have gone way too far..."

>Don't know if this helps but for fuck sake I am so pissed!
