Cold-email

I cold-email few alumni's to ask a few questions about the college, I wanted to join. Some of them replied back with a comprehensive answer.

Which one is more appropriate emailing them saying thank you or since all answers are answered dont email them back.

I am cold emailing for the first time, so I have no clue what is more appropriate.

Is this some kind of a joke??? Not sending thank you note/email after receiving help from people is almost akin to not wiping your ass after shitting. Have some etiquette man!

And after the thank you note, always say you'd want to keep in touch with them.

This is no joke, I wanted to say thank you but was confused. I know its a naive question. I get your point . Thanx.
