cold emailing AGAIN

Guys,

I have posted a lot of queries lately about cold emailing. Don't mind, it is my first time and maybe some time later new joinees could use this as a guide to train themselves.

I have emailed tons of people and got some weird response. Need help to interpret these and possible next steps. Here are some situations I am facing

  1. I used LI to get names and then email people. Many have replied back from where did I get their contact details. I was telling the truth and after my response they don't respond in spite of many reminders. Do these people reply back just to know the source of their contact details OR I am doing it wrong by saying that I found them through LI

  2. Asked an MD for guidance and stuff and an appointment on phone and he gave his detailed explanations in the email itself. At the last he says that I can find his contact details in the signature. Ofcourse it is clear hint that guys wants me to call. Should I just call him in the morning or ask for some time slots to call in the email? (pretty stupid quesn, but don't want to take chance with this MD)

  3. Cold emailed an executive director at BB and she replies that the recruiting team will be in contact with me shortly. Haven't applied to that bank yet and didn't send my CV in the email. How will the recruiting team contact me? Is she screaming "Leave me Alone"?

look forward to fellow monkies' experiences

  1. A more suave approach would be to say that you researched their firm's website and was interested in their focus on XYZ industry/product and wanted to learn more by speaking with them about it. If they have contact details on the website, then just say you got it from the website. If not, just say you did some further research on LinkedIn and happened upon their details.

  2. Ask him for a good time to call (offer about 2 or 3 options), and take it from there.

  3. Yes, based on the information provided, I would also interpret that as saying "Leave me alone".

Thanks everyone for their views

Any suggestions how to go about lead 3? I really want to give it one more try I am planning to reply back that I will be applying soon online through the normal process, but just want some guidance from your side.

Any suggestions

fledgling_monkey1) Dont know what LI is so cant comment. 2) Either one is appropriate--you're thinking too hard. 3) Email her your resume so she has something to reference/remember you by.

Good luck.

LI= linkedin

Most people on LI aren't there to get cold-emailed -- they are there to connect with people they actually know. Those that are open to it generally need a good reason to deal with someone.

If I don't know somebody, and they have no people in common with me, and there is no cover email explaining why the person is trying to connect (or there is, and it's not a good reason), I'm clicking on "this is spam".

What i meant was from LI I am looking at employees names and applying company's email format and sending out emails. Sorry if I conveyed any idea of LI cold emailing :(
