Cold Messaging Senior Bankers on Linkedin

Just realised that I'm connected to some very senior players on Linkedin...

Connected with a GS / MS / JPM Partner (in South Africa though) and some very senior bankers (Executive Directors) and so forth from my country. What's the best cold message to send them? Seems a bit odd to just outright ask for their number and scheduling a call but maybe that's what I should be doing? I know Sil wrote an excellent networking guide, but I'm already 'connected' (literally) with these guys and they can see my LinkedIn (simplified version of my CV) - what to do from here on in?

say something like "Hi, I see you're in "XX role" and I'd love your advice, as I am getting ready for "XX role." I know it may be a "busy/off/earnings" season right now, but I'd love to hear your advice on how to best position myself"

say something like "Hi, I see you're in "XX role" and I'd love your advice, as I am getting ready for "XX role." I know it may be a "busy/off/earnings" season right now, but I'd love to hear your advice on how to best position myself". That way it dosen't seem weird. Also just one last quick piece of advice, even though these senior bankers are connected with you, a lot of them still don't give a rip about you. Try connecting with analysts if nothing works out with the seniors, they will be more sympathetic to your story, since it was their story not too long ago.

Draft something re-introducing yourself and then respectfully ask for advice: "Hello, (insert MD's name). My name is (insert your name) and I'm very interested in XXXX. Given your position, I'd really appreciate any advice you could offer on XXXX. Do you have time to talk on the phone for 10-15 minutes?"

And yes I agree with above - definitely try to reach out to analysts. Good luck!
