Trying to find a place to live in NYC and want to know how long standard commute times are.
Is it crazy to not want to travel more than 20 minutes to work?

No, not crazy. I would recommend being walking distance (if your office is in a “good” area as far as places to live). If not, prioritize being close to a subway line. I wouldn’t want to be more than 20 mins from work, and that is very doable with almost all office locations (many tend to be in midtown with GS in battery park/tribeca area).
Curious as well. 20 minutes is my preferred maximum, 25 absolute maximum for a lights-out apartment.
