Commuting for IB SA Stint?

Wondering if anyone recommends commuting to Manhattan for IB SA stint. It would take me like 1-1.5 hours to get to the office. Is it worth getting an apartment in the city to cut down on that time?
Debating to do so or not in order to save money on the stupid amount of rent one has to pay for Manhattan. Also currently helping out the fam with a lot of the house bills so adding on additional rent cost would not be very great.

Any insight helps. Thank you!
