Company Christmas party

Do you guys get fucked up at your parties and for those of you that do what are your best stories?

I’ll start. After like three bottles of wine one of our lawyers got so drunk he punched a hole in the drywall at the restaurant we were at. Came in Monday like nothing happened. He’s an absolute psycho alcoholic but apparently good enough at his job for it to be a non issue.

The office holiday party is approximately 100% downside. Approach it the same way you would some event that you are attending purely to establish a rock solid alibi while some thug you hired commits a crime on your behalf. Nurse one or (max) two drinks, engage in some memorable enough chitchat with as many people as possible, irish goodbye, and maybe meet up later with the other analysts for the after party.

Super dependent on your firm culture. I've been lucky enough to have been parts of firms which have a super getting fucked up culture so the christmas party tends to be a fine venue to get after it but obviously read the room and go into it with a grasp on how your colleagues generally behave at outings.

Also, if you're getting after it etc, know your limits. Don't ever get to a stage where you're having to be escorted out or behaving in a manner which is a topic of conversation later obviously. If you're not sure, best to err on the side of caution.

No troll- my MD and I literally had a wrestling match last year after the majority of people left and we both got completely hammered...would not advise unless your culture is superb and you have a "fratty" type of relationship with the MD. I'm by far his favorite analyst (I let him win as well, he's very out of shape). He also wanted a son and has only girls
