coming from a former pre-law kid... why can’t/don’t companies have investment banks on retainer for financing/m&a advisory? wouldn’t it be better to have a bank that is familiar with your company and one that you can always go back to for each different transaction or markets opportunity the way corporations hold lawyers on retainer and use the same firms?
