confused!! Help!
HI everyone! I am really confused about what an investment bank does actually. So i am more interested in trading (buy sell) and so i do not know whether i can trade in my job if i work at an IBank? From what i know, an IB basically deals with businesses, underwrites their stocks, does M&A. Right?
1) Is it right if i say, to put it bluntly, basically an IB is doing all the grunt works, peering through trivial discrepancies for due diligence, checking for minor mistakes in a pile of documents, buttering up to big corporate bosses, right?
2) Will i be able to trade (by that i mean be at least a part of the team to call for sell or buy) if i work at an investment bank? what are the other jobs that i should consider if the answer is not, or is there any department within the IB that could let me do it?)
Thanks all!
I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.
