Considering leaving my job after 4 people quitting within a year

So to make a long story short, the team was fully staffed at 6 and now it's down to 3 with one person leaving in 2 weeks. It's going to be a shitshow after he leaves and I am already stressed out so bad I barely get any sleep. I'm applying for jobs and waiting hear back. Should I abandon the ship before I find something?

Is there any reason why these guys left? 4 people jumping ship is extremely unusual for a team that size. I'm just curious, but why haven't people been brought in to help fill the gaps as people were leaving. Likewise, is there a toxic culture within the group? I know I'm asking a lot (and if you want to answer my questions in PM, I totally get it), but it's hard to suggest what to do here without knowing more details.

 

The people that left was for more money at the other places. On top of the work load and clients being super bitchy, it's a lot to handle. Plus management is doing management things. AKA not listening...

When fully staffed, is this a good place to work? Or have people left because they can't wait to get out the door? Are you confident that picking up the slack here will be rewarded come bonus time? Maybe the effort now will pay dividends.

If the sacrifice won't pay off, don't quit your job but you also shouldn't sacrifice your well-being. Even if you start dropping the ball because you needed a few hours of sleep, what's she going to do? Fire you? You've got time while she restaffs before you're expendable. Do the minimum (or less) and dedicate hours to looking for a new gig. Way easier to find when you already have one.

 

When it's fully staffed and clients aren't being shitty it's great. People are good too, but the pay is pathetic. That's why people leaves after a year or 2.

Ask both the boss is he/she planning to recruit and the people who are leaving/have left why they left. I've been in similar situation such as yours and i was really close to quitting (have my letter ready and informed both the HR and my boss) until my boss decided to hire/lateral some of his previous subordinates into our team and gave me around 30% pay increase.

But do start looking for a new job asap and keep looking until you feel comfortable with the situation with your team.
